What is Light Rail Molding?
Light rail molding is a decorative molding placed at the bottom edge of upper cabinets. The primary function is to hide under-cabinet lighting elements like lighting strips, ensuring that the light source isn't directly noticeable. By hiding the fixtures, it creates a tidier, more polished appearance while enabling the light to illuminate countertops effectively. In addition to concealing lights, light rail molding provides a decorative element and aids in visually "finishing" the cabinetry.
