What Colors Go Well with White Bathroom Cabinets

White Bathroom

When you choose colors for your bathroom, you need to consider every element. Simply put, you must pick the right colors for your cabinets, walls, fixtures, etc. Keeping everything within a particular color scheme will prevent the place from looking chaotic or cluttered.

White is a classic choice for bathroom cabinets. But you should also pair it with a contrasting shade. Contrary to popular belief, not all colors will look great with light cabinets, so you must choose wisely.

Here are some color options that you can choose for your white cabinets.

  1. White

Obviously, if you go with a bright color for the cabinets, the easiest thing to do is stick to the same palette. In this regard, you can paint everything white and make the space look pure and calm. Nothing will match the sense of peace you’ll get from this room.

And if you don’t want everything to look the same or blend in too much, you can play around with different shades. There’s bright white, warm white, and cool white. To take it one step further, you can try some patterns on the white walls, like lines, squares, flowers abstract patterns, etc.

White tile walls are also a very good option and will make the white cabinets stand out more. Not to mention that tiles are easy to find and maintain.

  1. Dark Colors

Perhaps one of the best ways to make your white cabinets take the spotlight is by adding a dark-colored wall behind them. You don’t necessarily have to go with pure black. Instead, you can choose something like dark blue or blueish gray.

“Instead of blending in, white bathroom cabinets pop into stark relief when set against a dark-painted wall,” says Annie Quigley from Hunker. “We suggest painting the wall behind the cabinets a deep, dark color because it lends a little more dimension than plain gray or black does.”

Adding a dark wall also makes it easier to pair the white cabinets with other white accessories, like decorations, mirror frames, vanities, and so on.

  1. Light Blue

Nothing matches the soothing feeling that bright blue gives you.

If deep or dark blue is not for you, there’s still a way to sprinkle some blue in your bathroom and make white cabinets stand out without taking away from the brightness. All you have to do is go for some light blue.

Blue is one of the most popular colors for bathrooms because it is so calming. It gives off a relaxing feeling and it works great with black fixtures.

  1. Beige

For some warmth inside your bathroom, you can opt for beige walls and elements. They will greatly complement white cabinets while making you feel like you’re at a spa. The earthy shade will bring a more natural aspect to the bathroom.

Beige can pair with both white and woody tones, which is a plus.

  1. Green

How else can you make your bathroom feel like a piece of nature if not by adding some green to it? Just imagine how amazing will your white cabinets look against a green wall.

Green is known to be very calming, just like blue – that’s why so many homeowners opt for tones like sage or olive green. Aside from the white cabinets, green bathrooms also work well with natural grainy wood.

  1. Gray

If you want to go with something darker but you’re not a fan of black or dark blue, gray is a wonderful option. It’s quite close to white compared to many other colors, so it’s bound to match.

“You will be surprised at the sheer magnetism of a room filled in white and gray,” says Sherry Nottingham from Decoist.

A white cabinet will look wonderful on a grayish wall, especially if you add other colors to the mix. Gray works well with wood and black, and if you stay within this range, you’ll have an elegant and modern bathroom.
