Are you planning to change the color theme of your bathroom soon? The year is close to ending, and many people are looking to bring changes in their life, and sometimes, this includes house renovations. You spend a lot of time in the bathroom, so it is one of your most sacred spaces. It is important to pick a color that will match the space and the decorations, and bring you a feeling of peace.
Every year, we see certain bathroom color trends emerging, while others pass the test of time. If you want to choose the right shade for your bathroom, here are some color trends for 2022:
- Dark Colors
Dark bathrooms are not something you see every day, but it is a trend that is growing more and more. It is especially preferred because it doesn’t add a lot of distractions, allowing the individual to relax.
“Dark bathroom palettes with colors such as charcoal are on the horizon,” says Joseph A. Tsedaka, principal at NOMI for Southern Living. “If you include speakers this often creates a tonal look, which is very sleek and clean and results in minimal distractions so you can relax. If you're looking for something lighter, both marble and stone are beautiful and often we match that same stone in the countertop so it's uniform.”
- White
White is a shade that never goes out of style. People are bound to make their bathrooms white because it is a pure color that makes you feel at peace. Today, though, people are a bit more creative and don’t stick to plain white furniture or walls. Instead, they insert veined marble tub surrounds, but also veined marble flooring. This adds more depth and personality to a bathroom while keeping the white theme strong. It can be nicely paired with white walls and white window frames and doors.
- Green
Green is more and more common in people’s homes, and that is because it is not only a calm-inducing color but also because it brings nature closer. The green shades that will be in trend next year include light greens, emerald, spring greens, and limes. You can even pick a green bathtub, as colored tubs seem to become quite a trend lately.
“I see open concept showers playing a big role in design as well as exploring the idea of incorporating a boldly pigmented tub,” says Brittany Farinas from House of One Interior Design for Southern Living. “Whether it's a gorgeous shade of taupe or sage green, I think a colored tub is an amazing way to make a statement in a bathroom.”
If you pick the right shade of green and pair it with the best fixtures, furniture, sink, bathtub, and decorations, you will create a magical bathroom that you will never want to leave.
- Beige
Beige is a great color that can add more warmth to your bathroom. The best thing about beige is that it resonates very well with the objects in its surrounding area, so if you go with this color for the walls, you will notice a shift in look and energy. Beige will make the bathroom more welcoming for everyone in the household, but also your guests.
- Blue
Blue is still a favorite color for many, particularly when it comes to bathrooms. If you’re a fan of blue, you will be happy to know that 2022 has some nice trends for you. You can choose between different shades of blue, whether we’re talking about lighter blues or darker ones.
Giving your bathroom a blue theme will be just like bringing the ocean closer to you, so you shouldn’t hesitate to try out this trend. The beachy atmosphere can always be there if you go with a turquoise or powdery blue, whereas navy or indigo will bring more intensity to the space.
The coolest thing is that you can combine blue with textures like bamboo or wood.
